From mdl.com.au: The updated Unfair Contract Terms (UCT) laws now prohibit unfair terms in standard form contracts, particularly affecting small businesses in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Contracts entered into or modified after 9 November 2023 must be assessed for potentially unfair terms, such as one-sided indemnities and disproportionate liability limits.

Small businesses and consumers can request courts to void unfair terms and may refer offending businesses to the ACCC for prosecution and penalties.
