From www.accountantsdaily.com.au: The Tax Practitioners Board has reported receiving 53 breach reports since the new reporting obligations began on July 1, 2024, with 38 of these made against other registered tax practitioners.

The reports primarily cite breaches of code items related to acting honestly and ensuring competent tax services, with incidents of fraud also noted.

None of the reports were deemed frivolous or vexatious, and the TPB advised practitioners to report significant breaches based on reasonable grounds without conducting extensive searches for violations.
