This measure aims to alleviate the price pressure on beer for consumers and support businesses in the hospitality sector.

The government also plans to increase the excise remission cap for brewers and distillers from $350,000 to $400,000 and raise the Wine Equalisation Tax producer rebate cap to the same amount from July 1 next year.
