Super death benefit paid to grandchildren?

by

Ed.

From cgw.com.au: Superannuation death benefits can typically be paid to a spouse, child, or individuals who are financially dependent on the deceased, but not directly to grandchildren.

If a grandchild is financially dependent or in an interdependency relationship with the deceased, payment may be possible; otherwise, the benefit is often paid into the estate to be distributed according to the Will.
