From www.superreview.com.au: The Super Members Council (SMC) has warned that proposals from Senator Andrew Bragg could jeopardize the existence of profit-to-member superannuation funds, which serve around 11 million Australians.

Bragg’s report calls for increased independent governance in the super sector, particularly criticising the equal representation model and citing governance issues within certain funds.

Critics, including Labor senator Jess Walsh, argue that the recommendations reflect a longstanding opposition to Australia’s superannuation system and could undermine its effectiveness.
