From asic.gov.au: ASIC advises small businesses to prepare for Australia’s new mandatory sustainability reporting requirements, effective 1 January 2025, which apply to large businesses and financial institutions.

Small businesses operating as sole traders or through partnerships are not directly impacted until 2028 unless they meet specific criteria related to revenue, assets, or employee count.

However, small businesses may still need to provide information to larger clients or suppliers to assist them in meeting their reporting obligations.
