From www.themandarin.com.au: Service NSW plans to require weekday staff to work Saturday shifts in nearby offices as part of a proposal by the Minns government aimed at reducing overtime costs.

The Public Service Association of NSW revealed that this change is meant to address staffing shortages at offices open on Saturdays and to improve service availability.

The proposed roster adjustments will begin on March 28, 2025, and will still comply with existing awards, allowing for Saturday work within reasonable travel distances from employees’ primary locations.
