From www.ibtimes.co.uk: OpenAI has introduced a new AI tool called Deep Research designed to assist with complex research tasks by performing multi-stage internet searches, significantly reducing the time required to compile reports.

CEO Sam Altman raised concerns about OpenAI’s current direction, suggesting a potential shift towards an open-source strategy in response to growing competition from the Chinese company DeepSeek.

Deep Research is available on the web version of ChatGPT since February 2, with mobile and desktop app versions expected to follow later in the month.
