From www.financialstandard.com.au: A review by ASIC revealed that no superannuation trustees monitored or reported on the full process of death benefit claims handling, leading to poor service and excessive delays.

The findings include that 27% of claims involved poor customer service, with 78% delayed due to issues within the trustees’ control.

ASIC has issued 34 recommendations to improve customer service, response times, and overall claims handling processes for superannuation trustees.
