NSW moves to reduce psychological injury claims

From www.themandarin.com.au: The NSW government is introducing new legislation that requires claimants of psychological injury to validate their cases before a dedicated judicial bench at the NSW Industrial Relations Commission before pursuing compensation.

This move is in response to a significant rise in psychological injury claims, which have doubled over the past six years, while other injury claims have only increased by 16%.

The NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey outlined a five-point plan aimed at reforming the system to better manage these claims and reduce costs for the state’s workers’ compensation scheme.
