From hallandwilcox.com.au: The Albanese Government has outlined plans to ban non-compete clauses for approximately 3 million Australian workers earning below $175,000 annually, aiming to enhance job mobility, innovation, and wage growth.

Proposed reforms will also address competition law loopholes that currently allow anti-competitive wage fixing and “no-poach” agreements among employers.

These changes are set to be implemented in 2027 following public consultation and may lead to the invalidation of existing non-compete agreements for low-income workers.
