From asic.gov.au: ASIC has implemented new clearing and settlement rules requiring the ASX to offer its services transparently and fairly, including a mandate to publish fee comparisons with international providers.

This decision marks ASIC’s first use of its new powers under the Competition in Clearing and Settlement reforms, aimed at promoting competition and reducing barriers for new market entrants.

The rules come into effect in three months and emphasise transparency and non-discriminatory access to ASX’s services.
