ASIC further guidance on virtual meetings

From asic.gov.au: ASIC has updated its guidance on virtual meetings for companies and registered schemes, clarifying expectations for member participation and addressing frequently asked questions regarding hybrid and virtual-only meetings.

The updates align with amendments to the Corporations Act 2001, which provided a legislative framework for virtual meetings and electronic document signing following a review prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Australian Government’s response to the review includes a commitment to enhance guidance on virtual meetings provided by ASIC and other regulatory bodies.
