From the RBA: Research examined the effectiveness of various investment tax break policies in Australia over the past two decades, revealing that while ITBs during the global financial crisis significantly increased investment, similar policies during the COVID-19 pandemic showed no substantial impact.

The study found that unincorporated businesses were more responsive to these tax breaks than incorporated companies, indicating that the structure of tax policies may need reevaluation for future effectiveness.
