A review of the NSW Renewable Fuel Scheme

by

Ed.

From www.holdingredlich.com: The NSW Renewable Fuel Scheme is set to commence in 2026, aiming to incentivise the production of green hydrogen and other renewable fuels, establishing compliance requirements for end users and retailers of gas.

Those affected must report their gas usage and surrender certificates to meet their liabilities, with penalties for non-compliance set at $17.50 per certificate.

The RFS also allows the trading of certificates to facilitate compliance and aims to further expand the scheme to include additional renewable fuels by mid-2025.
