Developers circle Sydney north shore

From www.abc.net.au: Developers are targeting Sydney’s upper north shore suburbs, such as Lindfield and Roseville, following the state government’s rezoning plan to increase housing density around train and metro stations, aiming to deliver 138,000 new homes over 15 years.

Many homeowners are joining forces to sell their properties to developers for apartment developments, while concerns grow among residents about preserving the character of their neighbourhoods and the impact on heritage-listed homes.

Ku-ring-gai Council is developing alternative zoning plans to balance housing needs with heritage conservation, with a preferred scenario expected to be revealed in March.
