LRBAs not on government agenda: Treasurer

From www.smsfadviser.com: Treasurer Jim Chalmers stated that the government is not considering changes to the limited recourse borrowing arrangements for SMSFs, despite pressure from the Greens to ban them.

Discussions in the Senate regarding superannuation changes have not yet begun and that the government’s focus remains on previously outlined reforms.

The SMSF Association contends that LRBAs do not significantly impact the housing market and are subject to strict regulations, countering misconceptions around their use.
