From www.holdingredlich.com: In December 2024, the Future Made in Australia (Guarantee of Origin) Act 2024 received Royal Assent, establishing the Guarantee of Origin (GO) scheme, which provides a government-backed framework for verifying emissions footprints of products and renewable electricity.

The Australian Government is currently consulting on draft legislation that will detail the rules and methodologies for the GO scheme, with feedback requested from stakeholders on various aspects of the scheme by March 2025.

The GO scheme aims to support Australia’s clean energy transition and meet emissions reduction targets by allowing businesses to claim credibility through Product GO and Renewable Electricity GO certificates.
