From www.bartier.com.au: Recent amendments to the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW) have increased penalties for individuals and corporations failing to ensure a safe workplace in the high-risk construction industry, with Category 1 offences now carrying maximum penalties of up to $10.8 million for corporations.

The new regulations provide that safety duties are non-transferable and impose strict liability on employers.
